In Ennouri Abdelghanni’s workshop, beautiful suits and dresses wait to be worn for special occasion. But the young and talented Moroccan does not wait anymore. He has been granted a microcredit and he hopes to extend his workshop soon.
Ennouri is a famous tailor in Oued Zem, a city in the heart of Morocco where he lives with his wife and his two children. In his workshop, he makes traditional dresses and suits: caftans and djellabas that Moroccan women will proudly wear every day or for special occasions.
Ennouri’s activity is glamorous but it has a defect: it is very seasonal. There is a large number of orders before celebrations and festivals, but it decreases once festivities end. The tailor has to handle this pace, between high points and mishaps.
For greater security and comfort, Ennouri wants to develop his activity. That’s why, when he was 34 years old, he decided to apply for a microcredit and to borrow €800 over 12 months.
I would like to extend my workshop and maybe to hire another employee in the nearest future!
The impact of microcredit on Ennouri’s life: thanks to his first loan, Ennouri managed to purchase new fabrics and a second sewing machine. It represents a first leap forward for more growth for his micro-business and the concretization of his ambitions.
