Chea Chom, 54 years old, lives with her husband and children in their humble house in the very heart of rural Cambodia. Her husband’s earnings as a farmhand were not high enough to feed the family, so Chea took charge and set up a vegetable patch where she grows fresh produce to sell at the market. Chea combines her green thumbs with a head for business and, fueled by her will to provide for her children, she decided to start farming pigs, which she achieved thanks to microcredit.
Thanks to microcredit, I am going to be able to improve my children’s living conditions, and perhaps even to pay for my daughter’s wedding!
