   Babyloan, who's that?

 MFI organisational structure

               The two founders worked in the microfinance sector, they had to learn everything about the web industry... surrounded by and relying upon a young, dynamic, passionate team, each member coming from a different background with his own expertise to carry on successfully Babyloan’s mission.

               The NGO ACTED, one of the French major players in microfinance in developing countries, the banks BRED and Credit Cooperatif, two main French banks working in socially responsible finance. They have been with us since the very beginning. Thanks to their support, Babyloan was born...

                MFIs are local organizations working very closely with the micro-entrepreneurs: they identify them and their needs, edit information on them and their project to present them to Babyloan internet users. They are the bank intermediaries for money transfers (micro-entrepreneurs do not have bank accounts to receive your loan directly), manage the microcredit (lending, follow-up, remittances), carry the risks, guarantee the loan if the entrepreneur fails. They chose to be Babyloan partners in order to extend their funding resources to a broader public, have more means to extend their scope and fulfill their social mission in helping always more entrepreneurs.

                They are the people for whom Babyloan was born. They live in miserable conditions even though they have human skills, motivations, ideas and strength to work to break out the poverty cycle. They only lack money, a small amount which often represents our monthly cigarettes expenses, a couple of drinks in a bar, our mobile phone invoice. Thanks to your micro-loan, they can start or develop a small business enabling them to earn regular revenues, improve their families’ living conditions, get out of poverty... and pay you back!

What kind of projects can I support on Babyloan?

                Babyloan.org is a communitarian website in which everyone is free to share and exchange about development and microfinance. To become a member of Babyloan (a Babyloanian), you only need to support a micro-entrepreneur.
We cannot yet support projects of European entrepreneurs (for legal reasons) but we hope to do it soon. Meanwhile, we try to connect people and create a social network linking Babyloanians.
